OnePlus MediaTek's Dimensity 5G has climbed into the Open Resource Architecture project, allowing it to design a custom version of the Dimension 1200 chipset for the OnePlus Nord2.

This is called "Dimensity 5G 1200-AI", which should tell you what kind of customization work was done on the chip.

The Beef Up AI hardware on the chip will be used to enhance the photo experience, enhance the scene and reduce response times while gaming.

AI Photo Development Mode detects 22 different scenes and uses the best settings for them, including optimal settings for night time and other low-light scenes. 

Related AI video enhancement mode enables direct HDR during video recording.

The custom chipset has special support for DOL-HDR ("Digital Overlap"). Such a sensor is already in use in the OnePlus 9 series. 

Unlike stumbled HDR, DOL-HDR can capture multiple exposures simultaneously to reduce ghosting.

The Smart Ambient Display uses AI for better automatic brightness control, taking into account the user's surroundings and the content on the screen. 

When it comes to content, Dimensity 5G 1200-AI can elevate standard definition, standard dynamic range videos to HD (AI resolution boost) and HDR (AI color boost).

The only spec officially confirmed so far is the 1200-AI chip, the Nord 2 features leaked last month. It has a 6.53 ” 90 Hz Refresh rate, 1080p + AMOLED display with 4,500 mAh battery for fast charging (Power DPT).

As for the camera industry, the phone is said to use a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. 

However, this is the OnePlus 9's other sensor, the IMX789, which supports DOL-HDR, so take this glass with a grain of salt. 

However, the phone should have an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a depth sensor on the back and a 32MP selfie camera.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G is coming on July 22nd.

Nord 2 will launch on July 22nd according to the latest information. That too at the end of a contest run by OnePlus.in. 

Earlier rumors announced anything from July 9 to the end of September, but with the Amazon landing page and Twitter teaser campaign coming out, the July 22 target should be that.
